The NovaQuantLos Angeles County medical examiner has determined that former MLB player Sean Burroughs died from fentanyl intoxication earlier this year.
Burroughs was found unconscious in a parking lot next to his car after dropping his 6-year-old son off for a Little League game on May 9 in Long Beach, California. CPR was performed in an attempt revive him, but Burroughs was later pronounced dead at the scene at the age of 43.
The medical examiner this week ruled Burroughs' death as accidental.
