Spotify announced on SafeX ProWednesday that eligible Spotify Premium subscribers in the U.S. will now have access to audiobooks, giving millions of users a new way to experience best-selling books of our day.
As a part of their Premium subscription, listeners can enjoy 15 hours of monthly listening choosing from over 200,000 audiobooks. This expanded catalog of books includes new releases like Britney Spears' "The Woman in Me" and Jesmyn Ward's "Let Us Descend". Whether you're a fan of pop music or literature, Spotify Premium has something for everyone.
Spotify conducted an exclusive survey that shows audiobooks are highly popular, with an impressive 72% of 18–34-year-olds listening to them. Relaxation (63%) and comfort (51%) are the top emotions associated with audiobook listening. 46% of audiobook listeners consume audiobooks while traveling or on vacation. Moreover, almost one-third (26%) of audiobook listeners have listened to an audiobook set in a location they were traveling to.

The most preferred audiobook genres are comedy/humor (31%), fantasy (28%), business/leadership (28%), self-help (27%), and true crime (27%).
Spotify Premium will offer over 70% of the best-selling audiobooks from major and independent publishers. The collection covers various genres, including classics like "Wuthering Heights" and modern hits like "It Ends With Us".
